Locations.

When we planned our 3 final ideas, they were all to have different locations, but in the end we only really thought of locations for our top two ideas, as when we planned our ideas for Battlescars, we could only think of some rough ideas of what to do.

Halfway Home:

From the beginning, myself and Katie decided that we wanted it to be a very random location as we knew we wanted to tie in the false/broken promise theme. At first we thought of something basic, which was a field with long grass, so that we could interlink the narrative and the performance, all the way through planning, this is all we based it around as we felt it was really important.
But when it came to presenting the ideas, the field did not seem so appealing, we wanted to incorporate hyper-reality in our location, and in a way we have, our final location is Eynsford Castle, it was first constructed in the Norman era, so it is obviously not all intact and fully built, but this is exactly what we wanted, we wanted a representation of the narrative in our location. The ruins of the castle highlighting the ruins of the relationship and how messy the love between the two characters is.

The Show is Over:

This is the one idea that needed serious research, as much as we loved the idea, we could not do it as many of the places were expensive. But when we went to meet up with the band, after we had explained this idea, they told us about a place that they had used before for a photoshoot, and their rate was a very low price of £40 for as many hours as you needed, this was a really good location, it was just what we wanted but we had to think about the costs of us getting down to Chatham, on top of the price of the theatre, and it wasn't gainable for either of us. This is why we chose Halfway Home, as most of the locations are nearby and easy to travel to.
